... bit dramatic, but it did attract your attention didn't it?

Dear Pete!

Just a remark: ever since the new server is on I seem to be experiencing strange behaviour in Netscape. Replying to a post can result in the replyscreen staying on the screen for .. well, a very long time. When i open a the forums a second time in another window, the reply is posted, though in the first window it is still uploading...

On other occasions it seems to be very hard to open a tread in the forums ( or fora.. whatever!).

I never experience this behaviour in explorer... Is it just me, or a known problem?

Thanx!

It's not just Netscape (and not just the 'new' server).

I just learn not to hit the "send" button too many times.

*I* think it's a matter of the sheer number of posts already in the Simviation forums, that the Yabb script has to run through all sorts of hoops to accurately set its "markers".

It would be interesting to see if other yaBB boards have as many overall posts as Simviation, and whether they're having similar problems.

I think this is exactly right ... & it would indeed be interesting to see if other YABB forums with this many or more posts experience this problem. The server should be able to handle it but maybe the YABB scripts are causing problems.

2 solutions come to mind:

1. Remove old posts (raising its head again)
2. Hope the new version of YABB is more efficient ..... whenever it will be released ....
