Particular points of intrest, the invention of Rugby, the first passenger carrying steam engine, the discovery of Titanium and the earliest Christian Church on the British Isles.

Ok ok its there now. It was getting quite late when I found the page.

As for the Rugby one, I think it might be a bit suspect, but its a nice thought. Grin

Im sure our resident historical monumenterrr historian Hagar will find something on this.
I was of the understanding that two counties in England where able to create their own Governments and self rule away from Westminster.  Cornwall and Lancashire as they are both dutchys which means (although I could be wrong) they they could proclaim themselves as seperate Countries.

There are a fair few people here in Cornwall who want independence.

Historical monument suits me better. 8)

I know very little of the history of Cornwall. In fact I've only been there once. I'm surprised they let me in. Roll Eyes Tongue Wink

If you want facts on Cornish history then you could just ask me.

I've mentioned this on another topic but apparently Jesus came to Cornwall at some point. And there's a nice rock to mark the place where he landed, near St Just. (Which St Just though I don't know. There are two. I suspect it's the one opposite Falmouth, as thats the one near water.

Hurling is a very old sport similar to field hockey but a lot rougher. It's still played in Ireland where I understand it's very popular. Also played in some parts of the US.

In the US, the sport of hurling is generally played in bars, parties, etc., the players usually being inebriated males and females that have partaken of "adult beverages" too fast and too much.

That's the one I remember - or I would have remembered if I hadn't been inebriated.

That sounds very similar to the Irish version. Grin
