Hi All...!

After spending at least two hours wearing out your keyboard by typing in your password for the zillionth time in Flightsim.com, only to be confronted with: "All Nodes are currently busy. Please try again later".
...and suddenly you see the main options screen appear, as though it's a gift from the Gods. I'm just curious to know how you all individually celebrate such a joyous occasion...?

...'cos it doesn't happen to me very often...

But whan it does, I get all my mates to come round. I order a Chicken curry with Chips, Basmati rice and Nan bread for us all, open a bottle of Chardany, we all get rat-arsed, and gaze at the screen to observe this rare and unusual sight.
One of my mates actually photographed the screen to remind us all what it actually looks like...
...just before Flightsim.com says: "You have been inactive for too long so we are going to disconnect you"...
Buggar...!

LOL...!

Paul.

I think its like a race of connection speed.

Whatever the speed is its like the speed of a car...it gets there first and when it loses its just a matter of refreshing to restart the race. Flightsim is pretty easy with a fast connection.

When I had 56k I would log in at dinner time around that and leave at least 2 things downloading...if i managed to log in Tongue

but even if you're logged in: downloading big files (8mb and up) at flightsim is a true PITA,due to the limited download speed of 10kbytes/s.... Tongue

Hi Craig...
..but you haven't said how many Zillion times you had to refresh the screen before you were presented with the final, magnificent, once in a life-time, "options" screen... Wink...!

LOL...!

I finally got in once tonight, the keyboard's totalled, the curry's been eaten, the bottle's empty, and I'm totally rat-arsed now... Grin...!
...that's joy for you... 8)...!

I usually get in after 5-10 tries, I celebrate by staying in there for a really long time and downloading everything I can possibly find that I am interested in at the time...or maybe I take a puff off a lefty...or both.

...I wouldn't have thought the connection speed to be the cause of the problem in getting access to the options screen... Roll Eyes...!
Flightsim seem restrict the number of members connected to the site at any one time....
Unless, of course, you are prepared to oil their palms with a few dollars.... Wink...!
LOL...!

...but for me, in England, on a dial-up, 56k Modem, it's a real pain getting into an otherwise excellent site... Cry...!
...most times I give up... Roll Eyes...!

Actually it doesnt have anything to do with conn. speed,(Im on cable @ 1.5meg. & have the same problem) it has to do with wether your a paying member, or are on a free membership. Roll Eyes
Yep I know what ya mean Fozzer, and FS planet is even worse, I can never get in there, and when I do hehe, I get everything I can, as fast as I can, cuz I know it'll be a month of Sundays before I'll get in again! Grin

That's what I love about SimV, it's not an issue here. 8)
Heh, if i see somthin at Flightsim, or FSplanet I want, I know It'll be here, or will be soon, so I just wait and get it here. Wink

hammer it until you get in... eventually they will see that keeping this limited access stuff is actually making the download speed worse compared to giving everyone access. (or they run the entry part on another machine)

Same here.  i have 56k to, but I live out in the boonies so I am on the end of the phoneline, so I usually can't get higher than 44kbps Sad Sad  It takes me an hour to download a 10mb file.  That and my parents are constantly telling me I am online too much Roll Eyes
I very rarely use flightsim, but i have yet to think of an aircraft i want that isn't available here or at AvHistory.
Trainsim.com, which is run by the same outlet, is also getting very bad, I tried about 40 times tio get in today and could'nt(beginning to get seriusly p*ssed off).  However, i don't think there is a time limit on it (yet), although i don't think MSTS is as popular as FS and CFS.
