Hi all.

Welcome to SimV's new forum section!

First of all THANKS to everyone for the many votes of support for this whole idea,..... and also for all of the discussion on the subject itself that has already gone on in the "Survey" thread that was located in the "General" section.  We are off to a good start here.

And many thanks to Pete for giving this a chance to develop.  I love Pete's little description he wrote of the nature of this new forum on the main forums page!  He's got us pegged  Wink.

In order to break up the HUGE single "Survey" thread that sort of contains a number of what are really diverse "thread topics"...... it would be nice if each of you would take the time over the next week or so to do a "Copy + Paste" job on messages which you posted in that thread (now moved here as a single entity) and move them over into some new more specific threads that I will create soon here in our new forum.

We'll just leave the "Survey" support type posts right there.  Once you sucessfully move a posting out of that other thread......... please delete your original posting.  Thanks.  We don't need it all duplicated..... too much storage space.  Please try to keep an eye on a "topic" and when a message is moved....... and we'll try to move the messages in sequence, if we can.

If you were the person to sort of "start" a logical "topic thread" in the old "Homebrew Poll" thread.... and you don't see a topic header that I have already set up..... feel free to start to move one over.  Just put "(repost)" in the title.  Thanks.

That way it will be easier for others to eventually find some of the stuff that has already been put into discussion..... rather than wading thru a long thread that is so wide ranging.

I already talked to Pete about how to do this and he said that the best way is for each individual who made an original posting to "move" it him or herself.  So that's what we'll do.

So look for some thread topics that show up here soon that have "(repost)" appended to the topic.... and please cut and paste your former messages out of the big thread and relocate it as is appropriate.  You don't have to resubmit any image files...... they are already on the server.

When I moved the first message of mine, I went to the message in question, then hit "Modify" and that brings up the posting editing part of the system.  Then a "select all" in the main window and the links and smileys and such just come along as part of the "copy" on the clipboard.  Then go to the new location and hit "Reply" to that thread.  Then just "Paste" the copied part back into the body of that message..... and the pictures and all go right along.

Thanks....  and I look forward to seeing what develops here.

best,

......................john

PS: Will..... sorry he wasn't able to use your original forum name suggestion  Wink.
