was then they broke up. then a bunch of crap came out about them sleeping together and thats when the cat fight really kicked off.
as for rap, i do like rap, i have alot of respect for rap stars they really have to work hard and sacrifice to make it to the top, they dont get it handed to them like pop stars,  they write their own music aswell,

Fortunately, not having a tele' I don't get to actually see all these Rapper types.
I just get to hear them constantly on the BBC radio, Local Radio, etc, day in, day out... Cry...!
Sometimes it's good, most times it's naff...but it's all we ever seem to get here now...
I blame Brixton, Birmingham, and Bradford....
Oh, and mustn't forget Bristol...!
...George, I detect you are not into it at all.... Grin...!
You need baggy trousers, trainers, a base-ball cap on back-to-front, and just two fingers on each hand to appreciate it... 8)...!
...sadly, I've only got a striped, two-piece suit, leather shoes, and a trilby hat.. Roll Eyes...!
LOL...LOL...LOL...!
Ozzy, what a waste of Britney Spears.... Cry...!
LOL...LOL...LOL...!

Cheers both... Grin...!

Hi Craig...!
I just thought that "Where is the love" had some really nice words to it, which is un-usual. Normally they are full of anger and aggravation... Roll Eyes...!
I was going to download it, but the thought of a ten thousand dollar fine by the RIAA, rather put me off that idea... Cry...!
As for most of the Rappers, that's where I get into serious trouble with the "Race Relations Board", and the "heavies" at Bristol.... Wink....!
...say no more... Shocked...!
LOL...LOL...LOL...!

Cheers Mate... Grin...!

I think this thread should be renamed - cRap music - as has been suggested already.

Justin Timberlake is GAY.

All rap music is GAY.

In fact all rap singers are GAY.

there is nothing musical about cRap music.

I like a lot of rap music, and then there is some of it I don't like, but this holds true for me in any genre of music.

I HATE rap music.  Like I've said before, you can't spell crap without rap.  All it really is is someone talkin' fast while ryhmin'.  And now some of 'em have the wevos to just put izzle at the end of every word!  Hell, I can do that!

I was divin' in my carizzle
Sippin' on my drinkizzle
Shoutin' at the honeyizzles
I crashed into a poleizzle
'Cuz I wasn't watching where I was goinizzle

They don't really play music either.  I've never seen a rapper play an instrument.  Maybe if they did, I'd hold 'em in higher reguard.  And as for Timberlake, if I ever met him, I'd cut off his tounge.

I'm going to stick my neck on the line here and actually defend rap music!

I can understand why people don't like it, but it's just as valid a form of music as jazz. It takes a lot of practice to hone your skills as a jazz musician, just like it takes a lot of practice to hone your skills as a rapper. Some of the rhythmic nuances going on in rap music are interesting stuff, and a lot more interesting than what goes on in pop music.

It requires a serious effort to be a good rapper. Busta Rhymes is incredible to listen to because he says everything so accurately, but at a speed way greater than anyone else. In a way he can be compared to Charlie Parker.....a virtuoso of his instrument, capable of playing faster, better, and more innovatively than anyone else.

I'm studying music at Uni right now, and so many people here miss out on hearing some great rhythmic things and also hearing out on what these people are saying, just because they haven't really -listened- to rap music. I personally think it's pretty amazing.....!

Someone fetch the fire extinguisher please...Tongue

I'm with you Zcottovision, like I said in my earlier post, there is a lot of Rap music I think is awesome, I listen to it quite a bit, I also listen to Death Metal, Thrash, Goth, Mariachi, Japanese, Greek, Classical, and Tori Amos! I am always hungry for something different, from any corner of the globe. If it catches my attention, I'm there!

you all know my feelings on rap, first one on that poll to vote for it,Smiley then suddenly people appeard after days to vote for it:P LOL
i am not so much a fan of busta but it amazes me just how fast and accurate his music is.
i gotta stick with Eminem, 50 Cent and Dr Dre. if you want a really good rap song, try listening to Tupac and Dre's California Love. its got a great tune to it.and some great words to it.
Will Smith is another good "rapper" (if it can be called that)

Ozzy beat me to it with the 'rap spelt with a silent 'c''! LOL

My daughter talks about rap songs, as we have an active discussion about how rap is not a song, because a 'song' has a 'tune' that you can sing, and how rap is therefore ranting to a rhythm. Actually, sometimes not even a rhythm, just a beat.

But she says 'oh, you listen to that old-fashioned Schubert stuff.' Hmmm.

OK, that's my two penn'orth.  Grin
