The RAFv.
The Royal Armed Forces Virtual is a member’s only user group for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2000 & 2002. This professional organisation is accurately reproducing the peacetime military activities of the Royal Air Force & Royal Navy Fleet Air Arm on its own Private Multiplayer Server and VATSIM Network under the guidance of VATSIM IAMPSO. This concept effectively encompasses all the United Kingdoms virtual military aviation activities into one complete organisation and will offer a unique perspective to online Flight Simulation.
The initial emphasis is being placed on the land based flying syllabus (RAF) with the sea borne (RN) due to be completed shortly.
The Royal Armed Forces Virtual provides a mature and professional environment where teamwork and discipline (By way of a structured Chain of Command) are respected and learned in a challenging and fun environment.  This Chain of Command is in place to ensure smooth running of the RAFv and that its members can enjoy a true military atmosphere, this being modeled as close as possible to the UK's command system to ensure a realistic environment for the RAFv member.
The RAFv membership consists of many Gents and a Lady from the UK and we enjoy the company of members in Germany, two members in Australia another two in the US and in Canada who all enjoy getting together and tearing holes in the UK Airspace. We welcome anyone. We would also like to hear from any other VA's who might be interested in sharing either our dedicated servers and / or our Virtual airspace.
The RAFv enjoys its own in-house Aircraft and Scenery design team and also the full support of the ZDB and DSB Design Groups.  Without them both we would be without much of our operating hardware.

The latest RAFv projects include a deployment for 41 (F) Sqn to Elmendorf AFB, Alaska.  It is hoped that the VUSAF organisation will join us and take part in this two week exercise.  The RAFv has two members who are currently organising an ONLINE AIRSHOW event to be located in the UK, most likely to be Manston Airport in Kent, Southern England.  We are inviting people to attend by written registration of interest (Email: SH-BOSS@msn.com) and can bring along Civil or Military Aircraft and they are invited to attend a fly-in hopefully via the VATSIM servers, if not then on the RAFv Private Server and then if they wish and slots allowing to take part in the display itself and show off their display routines. The RAFv, itself, will be fielding the Virtual Red Arrows (Two Ship) the Virtual BBMF as well as the usual Tornado F3, Jaguar, Hercules, Hawk, Tucano and Harrier displays. The RAFv would especially like to invite such organizations as the Virtual Canadian Air force, the VUSAF and VUSN, the vUSMC and Virtual US Army and any other Org that would like to attend.  Please contact using the above mentioned address.  The undisputed Stars of the show are the Virtual Russian Knights of the Sierra Hotel Organisation; they have already confirmed their booking so it looks like we will have a good meeting of kindred spirits!  The Virtual Russian Knights are fielding Peter Davies SU-27 for this seasons displays and we are all looking forward to watching them perform.  The actual day of the show’s display will be organised to run on the RAFv IP Server without the Lag etc associated with the normal ATC Networks. Full ATC is expected. The event will be held sometime in September and most likely to be spread over a weekend. We are also throwing this open people who would like to just come along and sit and watch as observers...

Those seeking further information on the group and its activities should contact staff@rafvirtual.org for further information.
