The F-104 had many variants (A,B,C, etc.) but i was wondering if there was really any exterior change in any of the variants, not including the T variant. To be more specific, was there a big difference (on the aircraft model) between the A, C, and SuperStarfighter models?

Most A models had the cannon fairing sealed sinse they were rarly fitten with a gun. The C model had a shell ejector chute under the fuselage, and had an optional IFR probe. THink thats about it really Tongue.

The G model has an longer vertical stabilizer. You can notice the difference if you look at the rudder position vs the tailpipe position. On a G the rudder/stab extends well past the tailpipe, on the A or C it is much shorter.

Check out http://www.starfighters.nl/ for some good profiles that show the difference.
