I've been heavily back into panel stuff recently and thought you might like a look at my latest incarnation of my (very fictional) Baron Panel:

...

Changes from the version currently displayed on my site are:

1) The Yoke - removable by icon added to the others near the top of the panel. Includes working clock, ATC and Autopilot master buttons.

2) Additional annunciator lights along the top - Stall warning (far left) and Main door open warn warning (2 left of the ice light).

Worth noting that the default annunciator lights include one for the Aft door being open, even though the Baron model isn't fitted with one. Roll Eyes

3) Replacement radios and audio panel for the Bendix King stack - Garmin versions.

4) Replacement autopilot panel - This was a pain because although I liked the look of it, it's fitted with a speed hold function.

One of my foibles is that I won't have anything on my panels that doesn't actually work. The Baron isn't setup to allow autothrottle and speed hold, so I messed about in the .air and aircraft.cfg files to get this to work properly.

5) My Call-sign (G 0713) added to the top left of the panel. This is actually gauge, not artwork on the bitmap. If you change your call-sign in the ATC options, this changes with it.

It'll make an appearance in Leg 10 of the RTW trip and now that I've finished messing with the darn thing, I'll get Leg 9 published.  Grin

*jealous* Sad

Looks great! Looking forward to the next leg, the RTW is a really great idea Smiley

I plan on attempting it myself when I finially learn the basics of navigation and flying in general  Grin

Nice panel!

Are you going to upload it to SimV?

Where did you get that Radio stack?

Is that a static yoke or does it move?

Thanks Andrew Smiley

Unfortunately, it's not likely to be on general release as not enough of it is my own work. It's based on panelsgc.zip by G.Coca which includes several replacement panels for default aircraft. The Baron was my personal favourite out of all of them.

The Radio stack is a combination of 3 gauges. The audio panel comes from a release of the Garmin radio stack I found at flightsim.com (Haven't got the filename unfortunately, but a search for "Garmin" should turn it up). The 2 radios below it were cribbed from Tom Kellner's recent B1900D panel release. I got that from flightsim.com too but it may be here and elsewhere too.
I honestly have no idea where I got the autopilot from. I found it while hunting through my gauges. The gauge name is: autopilot-schub-1.

The yoke is cribbed from the V.C. (where it moves) but it's static on the 2D panel. You can remove it via the new simicon I put with the others, but that's it I'm afraid.

Saddened to here that panel isn't available as a whole.
"Sweet" is the word I would use to describe!
Thanks for at least a look at it because the Baron is by FAR my fav. airplane- Dad had one and I pretty much spent my youth in the right seat. Thanks
Oh, best of luck with the RTW!

I'll e-mail G.Coca and see if he'll give me permission to upload it if I credit him with the original panel.

That would be great. I love to fly but have no talent for design and not a bit in the way of tools. Who am I kidding- I just don't have any talent! Thanks for the try!

Hey Tipster, you really don't have to upload the whole thing. You could go into your panel folder and post the aircraft.cfg contents and some of the missing gauges in this thread

Yeah I suppose, but I've no idea where half the gauges come from. I keep a single folder with all my additional gauges in it.  The best I could do is post the gauge names which isn't much help.

The other problem is there's an  additional bitmap used on that panel for the overhead.

hmm,

I've downloaded the garmin radio stack from flightsim, The B1900D panel, The panel revisions by G.Coca, and I have that autopilot gauge.

How much would it take to zip up the remaining missing gauges plus overhead bitmap and post the aircraft.cfg file?

Sorry, I just can't stop drooling over that panel!

LOL - I don't actually know! I haven't separated out the gauges I've used from my main gauges folder yet. You'll also need the Yoke bitmap which I forgot about.

I'll take a look at it when I get up (I've been up all night lol) and sort out what's needed.

You could actually help me out here Andrew.

I'll post the panel.cfg below -  if you try it out and post a screenshot of your panel, it'll be easier for me to spot the additional gauges you personally need rather than everyone else.

ok - there are 2 bits of bad news here... lol.

The first is I run FS2002  at a resolution of 1152 x 864 and it looks like there are going to be some positional problems as a result.

The second is I also modified the main bitmap which you're going to need too.

I'll take a look at the panel in 1024x768 and repostion stuff when I get up (if that's the resolution you're using?)

I run usually FS2002 at 800 * 600 but The only problem so far with the panel is that there's a few gauges missing and the overhead panel needs a bitmap i guess because it's messed up. I've even tested the panel while running FS2002 at 1024 * 768 and everything is positioned the same.

I received a reply from G.Coca and he's given me permission to upload the panel Smiley.

The one on display is for FS2002 Pro only, but after I've finished the Duke B60 conversion for FS2002 standard, I'll do the same for this one.

Not surprised G.Coca said yes . . . I'd be proud to have someone do such a great job with one of my panels.  But then again you DO have to look at it for hours on your RTW.

Can't wait to D/L it from here

I just found a couple of replacements for the radio stack which match them all up.

The audio panel, whilst not quite as complex, has the virtue that it's clearly visible. Even on a decent 17" monitor, the buttons on the previous version needed magnifying glasses.

The autopilot doesn't include autothrottle (or the Mach hold setting!) which makes it more realistic in my view.

I'll be uploading this to Simviation.com ONLY later tonight. Hope you like it. Smiley

LIKE it, he says . . . .

I think there will be a lot of people breaking out their barons tonight.  I may even have to give my cirrus a rest

The file has just been uploaded.

Although I've never uploaded to this site before, if it's typical of other flightsim sites, it should be up in a day or two.

Baron58ProPanel.zip

I'll be producing a Standard version a.s.a.p. and then I'll look into bringing the V.C. into line.

I've not done much with Virtual cockpits, but I think I may have recently discovered how to replace the whole thing with a lookalike of my 2d Panel, but don't hold your breath. It looks like a hefty job in the bitmap department.
