Can someone help me with a problem, every time I land the Caravan ( with Floats ) at "any" airport, taxi to the fuel pump, do a proper shut down of the plane, It won't restart no matter what I do and ends up with Electrical failure forceing me to reset the flight...

Also having problems with installing new aircraft in 2002 pro.

thanks

Hmm, I can't really think of a problem restarting, but try this. When you turn off the plane, turn off the battery, or you will drain power, unable to restart. Also make sure all your fuel switchs are on, the mixture is full rich, and use the auto start sequence, hope this helps.  Wink

Hey Brit:

Nice picture by the way. Not really sure what the problem could be. Did you try 'ctrl' + 'e' for autostart?
I have the 'standard' version of fs2002, and I just tried it myself-no problems; I assume they are pretty much the same. Make sure your fuel cut off switch isn't set to cut off fuel. When you click on the little plane on the panel, you will get a little control panel which for the most part controls throttle/fuel settings. There's a little red switch just below your left/right fuel tank cut-offs. If that is out, that's your problem. If not, then I would try the 'ctrl' + 'e' trick to do the autostart. As stated earlier, I just tried it and had no problems starting the caravan.

I always turn off the Generator first, then the Battery, then when I restart, I reverse the order, I can seen by the guages that its trying to spin over, but never "catches"...

I downloaded the Albatross, followed the install to the letter and yet it won't show on my aircraft list....???

Thanks

I do use the fuel cutoff after all the other shut downs have been done, but I ALWAYS reset it back to the ON position before I walk away from the puter..and that also used to result in a auto refueling if the tanks were below 50%,,,but now that doesn't work either !

Hmmmm....beats the living hell out of me what it could be.

You mentioned the auto fueling. You mean when at the pump, correct? If so, do you put on your parking brakes? I believe you need to set the parking brakes to get fuel pumping into the tanks. If memory serves correctly! It's been a while since I've 'flown' the little planes.

"The LITTLE Planes ?......I have flown the big boys too, but I also like to cruise the beachs of the South Pacific and thats just a tad hard with a 777 !....lol

I also enjoy "mountain climbing" with the Caravan, I would really like to see Dehavilland-8 on floats.

I also posted a problem installing aircraft.  Out of everthing I have even tried to install the only thing what has actually worked is Antelope Trail.

If you are bored and would like to help, feel free to ICQ me .

Ok I admit it, I'm Blonde, but I forgot to ask this one too,  there is a keyboard command that will put up a numerical readout in the upper left hand corner of the screen that displays GPS,ALT,HDG,AIRSPD and WIND DIR........I found it one day by accident and can't find the command to duplicate it, even though I have been through all of the Keyboard and Joystick  "assignments" .

Hey Brit:

Well ICQ I don't use. You see, I'm one of those security freaks. I'm always monitoring my connections-netstat -a, telnet 27.0.0.1 then the port numbers that trojans use. Do you know what I mean? It's simple, really. At MSDOS you type telnet 27.0.0.1 41. 41 is the port that the trojan Deep Throat uses. If you have this trojan on your system you will connect, if not, no connection will be found.

I did see the post about your problems with installing aircraft. You said it doesn't show in your aircraft list. Would you mind cutting and pasting your config of the aircraft here? If I won't be able to help, someone else will sure be able to.

Thanks much, Britney

I can understand Security, knock on wood, after so many years of me being online, my firewall has stopped everything up till now, although MANY have tried.

Ok, here is the cfg file,,,its not real small. this is the cfg that came with the plane, I have made NO modifications to it,,,not that I could anyway.

No its not, none of the other aircraft are showing either, could this be that some aircraft are not compatable with 2002 pro ?   I have double and triple checked my install and everything is where its supposed to be..

I would love to see "install routines" included with new aircraft...

Its got to be something I am doing wrong, I have seen other posts about the Jet floatplane,,I have it, installed it, and its NOT there !

Did you make sure you placed the Albatross' aircraft folder into the FS2002 aircraft directory?

I am reading through that now, thanks, I think this will help alot,,,,"I hope".

I have yet to figure this Multi-player thing,,,but I'll save that for another time.....lol

I read tonight that Mickysoft is releasing a new version ?....any insights to what is new ?

I would like to see a more interactive version, ie.   getting intercepted by a Mig when crossing into Russian Airspace ?.

How bout a flight where the DEA or Coast Guard is chasing you down and its your job to make it back into the Everglades to make your delivery ? and to keep it with a PG rating, you are delivering sacks of flour  to the needy Indian Reservation Residents ???....Yea thats the ticket !.....lol

Ok, I digress ,,,thanks for your help guys,

Glad I could help Wink

Yes, Microsoft has announced the new simulator that they are working on. It's the "Microsoft Flight Simulator: A Century of Flight"

There's a couple articles on the FlightSimulator Insider @ http://zone.msn.com/flightsim/

As for it being interactive like that, I doubt it.

GrinI usually unzip into a temp file, then drag my files/folder to the correct folder in FS2002.  If there are no gaugues or effects to drag, I just drag the aircraft folder directly to the aircraft folder in FS2002 and its always there.  Just gotta make sure you are actually down to the folder containing the Panel, Model, Sound and Texture otherwise it wont show up.  When there are gauges, effects etc, it can be time consuming but that way I dont overwrite things I dont want to or shouldnt.  I am fairly new at it myself but always works for me, so this may sound kind of dumb for a pro at this stuff Grin Grin Grin
