I have integrated Intel graphics (82810e) - unfortunately.

I installed CFS3 a while ago and have just discovered a way (on the Intel site) to correct the problem with the CFS3 Sim recognising this chipset as incompatible - it will work with an adjustment in the CFS config.

Anyway, CFS3 auto-installed DirectX 8.2 which I'm told can cause probs, so I have been advised to update to DirectX 9.

I went to Intel site and downloaded this driver (into C:\Program files\Intel):

...

I ran the auto install and all went according to how it should but my Graphics Info still lists DirectX 8.1 as the version I have.

Can someone explain (like I'm a 6 year old) what I have or haven't done.

Thanks  Grin Grin Wink

go to http://www.microsoft.com/windows/directx/ and d/l it again.

You said you got it from the intel site - why did you not just go to the microsoft site.

Anyway - follow the instructions here - d/l it and install it - then got to start-run-then type dxdiag and hit enter.

Down the bottom of the first page you will see your direct x version - it should say 9.0

Hope this helps.

It fixed it. Seems what I downloaded from Intel was completely different from M$. I think Intel was only the driver.
Anyway, thanks for your time and trouble.    Grin Grin Wink
