Hello Chums... :)....
Fairly recent problem for no apparent reason I can think of!... When playing You-Tube on my Firefox Browser, the music/sound and screen, (and mouse pointer), suddenly freezes for a second or two, every now and again, with my desktop Processor Meter Dial is stuck in the red...100%! Sometimes when I click my Mouse Pointer on the open You-Tube Browser, the page and the sound freezes again! Its not due to sound, etc, buffering; as the You-Tube browser progress bar shows the data progress to be well ahead of the sound progress! Nothing seriously running appears to show in the Windows Process List... Its spoiling my daily enjoyment of my You-Tube music listening. (It sometimes happens with live data downloading on Films on news channels). Would it be something to do with a problem with my Windows Media Player, etc? playing via my on-board Soundmax Digital Audio sound Chip? It uses up all my Processor time when the program freezes, and everything stops for a while, until the Processor load drops again! Any ides, Chums? Paul....with sudden hiccups!... :'(...! |

Paul, try Media Player Classic (comes built in with the K-Lite codec package).
It uses a lot less system resources and is my player of choice. You can get it at http://www.free-codecs.com/download/k_lite_codec_pack.htm |

Un-installed all my other Media Player programs just in case they might have been causing the trouble, and then installed your Media player... Still got the same jitters as U-Tube was playing... :'(...! So... I thought I would try running U-Tube on my standby Internet Explorer Browser instead of my default Firefox Browser... Problem solved?...steady as a rock!... :o...! My Internet Explorer Browser is very little used, so there's not much "stuff" installed/running on it, so that may be the reason/cure.... ....I just need to transfer all my U-Tube Music, etc, over from Firefox to Internet Explorer, and just use it for playing Music, etc... ;)...! (Any tips on how to transfer all my many U-Tube-only Favourites over from Firefox to Internet Explorer...all in one go?). Paul...jitter-free on Explorer... [smiley=2vrolijk_08.gif]...! Versions: FF = 18. IE = 9 |

Having the same problem here with my 3.2 dual core and super fast internet. Finally figured out it was a You Tube problem. You can only recieve as fast as it's sent. I would venture to say that it is a server overload at their end.

Which release of Firefox are you using Paul? And with what plug-ins?

Strange. My wife had the same problem using Google Crome on my bandlink!! Never any probs on my pc using Firefox :-?

My smoothly running Internet Explorer is a default, bare-bones version, with no additional add-ons installed. Maybe that's why it runs U-Tube so smoothly? Still have unacceptable stutter problems with Firefox running U-Tube! Paul... :'(...! P.S...I'm going to disable all my Firefox plug-ins, and see what happens.. |

I did the mod to the session time. But all my problems seem to be associated with Adobe Flash Player. Its necessary on BBC News Video players, but gives stutter problems on U-Tube! Disabling the Flash Player for U-Tube seems to work! Its almost as though U-Tube uses its own player!! Paul... :o...! |

I wonder if it is some sort of conversion issue with the newest version of Flash as I upgraded the other day and I've just tried YouTube and am getting the odd judder.
Might be worth trying to revert to an older version of Flash and turning off the update on it. |

I'm getting so many stutter-problems between Flash Player and U-tube, that I'm inclined to only run U-Tube on Internet Explorer, where it seems to run smoothly! Paul...still experimenting.. ::)...! |
