Title: Help need please.
Post by videokid1969 on Oct 3rd, 2012 at 4:46pm
Hello to all , I am new to this site and need some help. I was wondering if someone could point me to an easy and free auto installer for putting airplanes into FSX, I am sorry if this question is in the wrong forum. As I said I am new to the forum, I used to be able to add plane's manually but with some of the changes and some of the plane's that have been converted for FSX my planes are broken or not working. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Try this out. I've never used it, but it looks promising ;)

There is no difference between installing aircraft between FS9 and FSXm except that FSX has a folder called "Simobjects" that contain "airplane", "Animals", "Boats", Ground Vehicles", "Misc", and "Rotocraft".  Just add the vehicle to the proper folder in "Simobjects".  As far as planes that have been converted from FS9 to FSX, do not use any auto installers that may have come with the aircraft because it will not know where to install the aircraft.

Also, depends on what you mean by planes being "broken".  FS9 addons were not designed with FSX in mind (unless they are relatively new, and specifically say they are FS9/FSX) Many older FS9 addons use gauges that are no longer supported, so it's not so much that the plane is 'broke", so much as "not designed for FSX". To make things even more "hit and miss", some FS9 addons were updated FS2K2 addons, which often do not even display in FSX.

As always, follow any instructions carefully and all should be well.

You are more likely to get problems using an auto installer.
