Title: RIP Carroll Shelby

There was just something wild, weird and wonderful about the cars, and the man himself. For some reason I can't explain, I think Bill Cosby captures it best in the clip here...

The man was truly legendary and will live on vicariously through his legacy.

I got a ride many many moons ago in an AC Cobra.....almost literally messed my britches.

Never been a Ford guy, but I could own any model Shelby Mustang with no qualms.

R.I.P. Mr. Shelby.  Thanx for all you created!

A the age of 14 I saw my first Cobra. Mr Shelby turned me into a petrol head, it was love at first sight. Thirty years later I am now waiting for my children to grow up and move out. The second they do, a Cobra kit will move in 8-)

Unfortunately, Mrs Expat did not approve the Caroll Shelby AC Cobra Memorial  build................. :-[

With the price of petrol, it will probably end up with a 2CV engine and a cunning MP3 player installation in each exhaust pipe to achieve the require sound effect ;D ;D

Funny, but what is even funnier, Audi are actually install a similar system to their new 3.0 litre Diesel. They have installed a loudspeaker system into the exhasut system and volume system for the driver so he can give the car a V8 burble.
Audi has also fitted a sound actuator to give its throaty new diesel the exhaust note you'd expect from a hi-po gasoline engin
