If Flight tweaks the interest of young wannabe fliers it can't be all bad. As long as it isn't just a lazy way to zim around in the air and embed bad habits in their minds. Some believe that Flight will draw youth into the simulator crowd. That would be a good thing if it were true. So the lines in the sand have been drawn, now we need to try to bring the young Flight enthusiasts to our side, and keep simulation and freeware, flying.

If this were Microsoft's concept... then they woul be offereing a new REAL simulator as the "second product" that is the next sale after the first one gets someone hooked on flight simulation.  They aren't.

best,

John, and anyone else who wants to listen, or reply..
Quite a few of us have spent money on our PCs and our addons to attempt to get the most realistic experience out of our simulators. Some young kids aren't stupid and will soon look for more immersion and more of a challenge. I think a small number of them will start surfing the net and come to our side of the hobby.  :) I hope.

MS aren't ...yet. Maybe they never will, maybe they will develop Flight to be more sim like. Nobody, including MS?, knows yet.

Judging by the majority of posters posting here I suspect that any new posters here will hardly find it welcoming and move to another site.  :(

maybe site of Imagination! perhaps?
How do you think these sites Survive Sam? Site like Avsim, Flightsim and Simviation Just to mention the biggest ones ,How do you think they have existed for the past 10 or 12 years? Because like our webmaster Pete Its a millionaire that likes FS that Much they spend his own money ,because the money fall from the sky as a rain ?
THESE SITES live because of the third party freeware mostly add On, for Google adds , for membership faster downloads etc  ,and that's how Its being working very well thorough all these years..with FLIGHT only ONE place to ask or download for money ...Microsoft

What Would benefit does FRAUD FLIGHT will bring to us with only Microsoft add on for sale what are the benefits to these sites? If I were the owner of this site I wouldn't even have a place in this forum for FLIGHT

and BTW , FLIGHT is not Better that FSX maybe that its the reason why people aren't talking too much about this anymore, while FSX are still very active as usual

I agree.
There is an never ending dumbing down of many things in this world and "MSF" is  jumping on this band wagon for profit while abandoning the greatest  and most profitable  PC franchise of alll time driven by pure greed.
The ironic thing about corporate greed....... it usually comes back to bite you in the butt sooner or later!  ;)
