Title: Strike Fighters 2 by Thirdwire

If any of you have not heard about this "soft" combat flight sim you might want to give it a whirl. It is pretty cheap, open, easy to mod, and lots of free mods available.

The beauty of this sim is its simplicity. It is something you can sit down for half an hour to an hour and get the controls figured out. The sim is complex enough to provide a challenge while simple enough to eliminate the need for a 750 page manual like Falcon 4.0.

Be warned, with all the mods it is VERY addictive!

Just saw your post..........Strike Fighters is Great!!!!
It has a great combination of realism and simplicity........... good action and pretty good flight modelling.
And the addons are endless......and really good.

So I take it you have experienced the wonders of the NATO Fighters pack? I especially love being able to add squadrons with any aircraft I choose to any branch or even make my own in any campaign. I have added several USMC F-8 squadrons to the late 60's campaign ;)

I had Nato fighters 4 in the original WOE but I have not tried it in SF2 yet.
An updated 'Operation Desert Storm' has just been released for SF2. It is a complete remake of the game set in the original early 90s Iraq invasion   8-)

I have been flying it for years. The best thing about this sim is after they released this game, they didn't just forget about it. They constantly update it. It has come a long way.
The play is a lot of fun. Lots of add on aircraft.
I recommend it.
