It took 18 holes but Tiger survived the first round of the Accenture Match Play Championship, defeating Gonzalo Fernández-Castaño 1 up.

#5 seed Woods plays #4 seed Nick Watney on Thursday.

Tiger withdrew from Doral after 11 holes on Sunday.  He seems to have an injury to his left leg.

Woods hopes to play next week at Bay Hill

The PGA is a "major" tournament.
