Title: Flight Sim 2002
Post by Bluewaters2812 on Oct 20th, 2010 at 4:03am
I am new to this site and only have flight sim 2002. I recently started adding new aircraft to my FS2002 and am really grateful to those who have provided these free addons. Some of them however, have only limited panel displays and have large areas greyed out. How can I ensure that the gauges are shown fully? I am not a fundi on some things but learn fast and am reasonably capable. Can anyone help me with this?

Hi there. If you give me examples of aircraft you're talking about I can download the files to check them out for you. I need the file description & link to the page it's posted on.

Looking at the panel .cfg file, and comparing it to the gauge folder in my almost "virgin" copy of FS2002, the gauges called out in the .cfg are not there present.  The "Gauge" folder in the download only appears to contain instructions on how to install a GPS readout thingy and an "up/down" for the auto pilot.

There's a few ways of fixing this.  One, look for a twin turboprop panel in the 2002 download section, two, look for another 2k2 Kingair, download it and see if it has the gauges, or three, edit the panel.cfg and substitute default gauges that are present for the "kingair" gauges.

PS:  Just noticed that the name of the .zip is "RFDS_B200_pro". Did the "Pro" edition of 2K2 have a Kingair? If so, that would explain the missing "kingair" gauges.

PPS:  Google is my friend, so is Wiki.  According to the Wiki, Pro does have a King Air 350, so the RFDS B200 used the default 350 gauges, if not the whole panel.

That's correct. If Len has FS2002 Standard Edition that would explain it. The Pro Edition includes extra aircraft & gauges to go with them. Addon aircraft with panels using these gauges will obviously not work properly in the Standard Edition.
