You MUST prepare your Firewall and router(if you use one) ports before connecting.  ;)

This link here will guide you through the port opening process: http://forums.simviation.com/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1252421080

Your options are to either open all 106 ports, or disable your firewall before flying online.
I recommend opening the ports for the obvious security reasons,
but also just to know that you won't be the one causing a catastrophic connection failure for others while online.  ;)

Once that is done, connecting to the server is just a few clicks away in FS9.

-Start FS9

-Click the Multiplayer tab

-Click Open Session

-In the IP Address window, type in fs.netfrag.org

-Enter your Player name in the box next to the IP address box

-Click the Search tab

-When it locates the server, click the Join tab.

- At this point, a password box will pop up, enter the password and click OK.

-A chat box should then pop up, if not, press Enter and it will.

-Now go to your settings, and lock your frames at 20

-Finally, go to Create a Flight, and set up your flight as normal.

That's it!!  Start your flight and enjoy! :D

The link to the Port opening thread is out of date.

Here is the correct link : /yabb?num=1252421080
