Title: Aeronet 24/7
Post by mclark38 on Nov 23rd, 2009 at 7:53pm
Aeronet 24/7 is a Multiplayer Flight Simulator server that has now become fully dedicated.
Aeronet 24/7 started it's life back in 2007 when it was founded by Peter Collins. It started off completely self run. Over time Peter implemented new elements for Aeronet including a self hosted Teamspeak, Free webs, a free forum. Since then Aeronet became more than a place to fly, but a community and is now strong and one of Flight Stimulator Multiplayers growing number one places to fly. A strong team of administrators now work together to administrate the Teamspeak and Multiplayer servers so that users can fly in peace and under the conditions they expect.

Aeronet now works in partnership with Strive Hosting which hosts Teamspeak servers, a fully licensed forum & website created by Aeroweb Designs.

Further plans for Aeronet include new Teamspeak technology enabling fliers to be able to fly on Flight simulator and through their radio stacks, the ability to switch channels without minimizing the sim. This is the dawning of Aeronets dedicated ATC server.

Want more info and an experience? Why not drop in on us and see our members doing what they do best, having fun!

Teamspeak: AN247.hopto.org  FS mulitplayer:94.169.165.3

Sounds interesting.

Is this a multi-sim server?

Is teamspeak required?

When you say moderated, is this more like a Vatsim server, requiring certain levels of knowledge in order to fly?

While it would be exceptionally nice to fly a heavily populated server, I would also enjoy a nice bit of freedom to my actions. (nothing that would be considered offensive, and distracting to other pilots, I just wouldn't want to be kicked for ignoring ATC or something similar.  ;)  :D

Some of our online pilots may like this.

A good portion of us here though, like the less structured format of our server here at Simviation. Perfect for bush flying, and spontaneous online hops.  Having the multi-sim feature of FSHost also allows more of us to enjoy some time in the air together, and the non-mandatory Team Speak option here is a blessing for some.   ;D  ;)

I look forward to checking your site out, and getting a few questions answered.  8-)

SOME = FOZZER  ;)

mclark38,

I assume that you are planning on using the long time available "TCommSet" application for the "radio stack" comment for tuning channels on Teamspeak?  Or are you writing your own code?

How are you planning on staffing your ATC stations?

best,

Basicly this is a laid back server you can do basicly what ever you want aslong as it doesnt offend anyone.  The ATC server been put on hold until we can get another server for it.  We are trying to get some members back after we got hacked in June.  Teamspeak is required.

A great basic requirement from my point of view.  Fozzer won't like it though....... he'll have to listen to American accents.  ;).

Within the next couple months probaly starting around christmas time we well start having more events.  For example, ATC in the Maderia-Tenerife area.  The plan is to have pilots fly in from nearby places (Portugal,Spain,Africa) the medium sized planes will land at Maderia and all Heavys will land at Tenerife north.  Unless they're up for a challenge.  There will also be a Amazon River hop starting between Christmas time and mid-summer.  All of this is an effort to repopulate our once full server.  Future plans included a dedicated windows server. TS: AN247.hopto.org  FS: 94.169.165.3  Teamspeak Required.  We also have plans to open a Ship Simulator Division.

Thats basicly it although there are times where there are no people.  Just so you know our server goes down for a hour or 2 every day because the server owner is running it on his PC.  This is just a procaution so he dont blow another motherboard.

Yesterday, January 2nd 2010, Aeronet server owner Peter Collins announced he will be redesigning the 3 Virtual airlines on Aeronet.  This is because FSAirlines has announced it will be chargeing to have your own VA on their site.  All VA's will be using the new VABase system that will be purchased shortly.

Teamspeak is required all the time.  If you dont have it i would suggest downloading it now from www.goteamspeak.com. ; Be sure to get the TS2 client.  If your not on ts but on the multiplayer you will be asked 3 times to join if you make no attempt to join you will be kicked.

Hello Maz...

One of the many reasons why I don't use Teamspeak in Multiplayer Sessions is because my banks of Keyboard Synthesizers and recording studio is permanently connected to my computer via my Sound Card and USB Ports.

The "Chat Window" is instantly available during the Multiplayer Session with no further complication, which suits me!

Users of the Sim V and WSP Servers (etc) have no such restrictions on the use of the service, and Pilots can use whichever method they prefer for inter-communication.. .. :)...!

FS Multiplayer User for the past 10+ years.

..so...

Mazz, my old Chum....

Tell me what the difference is between Aeronet24/7, and our usual Sim V and WSP Servers...when only using the "Chat Window" for communication?

I spent an hour on there yesterday...just me...on my own...and apart from the annoying request to join Teamspeak.... >:(..... there were no problems.

Paul....G-BPLF... :)...!

I am on the Sim V Server most days, at various times of the day.

I mostly file a Flight Plan which shows I have been using the Server, but the trouble is, it gets deleted after a short time, so it leaves no trace of my presence there!.... :'(...!

The disadvantage to using the Multiplayer Server when flying Solo, is that the Sim ATC is no longer available to use.... :(...!

I always enjoy the ATC company when receiving ATC "Flight Following" assistance during my flights, and using radio navigation, etc, with FS Navigator.... :-*...!

Paul....G-BPLF...FS 2004..FS Nav... 8-)...!
