Title: How to add planes to airports?
Post by aviateca on Mar 10th, 2003 at 2:15pm
I´ve seen from many shots of FS2K2 that the add one aircrafts can appear on the airports. How is that done? I´ve had downloaded a good deal of planes but none of them appears on the airports. Also, is there a way to make more traffic on a specific airport? It´s really boring to get a "fly stright in rwy XX" every time o go to, say, O´Hare or JFK. In real life, there are plenty of planes landing and taking off... how can I customize this? Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi aviateca. You found the right forum. To add 3rd party aircraft to the AI traffic you need a utility named TTools. This is posted in FS2002 Utilities. Check through the previous topics on this board first. I think most things are covered.

Hey Hagar, How have you been? I downloaded TTools awhile ago and when I went to "Compile", it could not because it was looking for FS2002 in my C drive when actually FS2002 is in my D drive. I tried changing it, but had no luck! Any suggestions?  Dave

Hi Dave. I remember someone having a similar problem with AFCAD. It might have been you. LOL
I only use one HD these days & have never had a problem with any FS utilities. To make sure they work properly it might be a good idea to install/run them on the same drive as FS2002. TTools is only around 5 Mb unzipped so wouldn't take up much space.

Thanks Hagar. In your opinion, do think having my operating system on my C drive and everything else, (FS2002 included) on my D drive, helps or hinders the performance. Should I just move it back to the C drive or leave it alone? Thanks Dave

I used to have 2 hard drives & one was partitioned making 3. This was before CFS2 or FS2002 but the previous M$ sims & FS utilities ran perfectly when installed to any of them. It might depend on your OS. From what I've heard I suspect WinXP might be less forgiving than Win98* in this respect. I could be wrong of course. If so, someone will soon correct me.  ;)

Fly2e= I had the same problem. I found out that you have to run the TDecompiler first and it will find FS2002, after it has finished loading ,then run the Compiler. It worked for me.
There is 2 TTools [ Program V1.2] and  [ Export  Aircraft in  FS2002  v0.6.]

Start FS ,click settings, click Air Traffic Control. You can adjust the slider for more or less traffic.

Well I have had no problems like yours, and I use XP with 3 partitions (C,D,E)
