Does anyone know good flight school in England?

where in the UK are you first of all?

anywhere will do, aslong as its in the UK but not ireland?

Harrier, have you tried doing a search on the internet? Or even just checking the Yellow Pages, there are a number of v.credible establishments in the North (I'm not sure how many are around Liverpool however), you could also try flicking through some flying mags, the classifieds in the back are often a good starting point.

well i could say Bristol is good, they use piper warriors, give you full hour and all the other requirements, its a little expensive at £115 an hour, but it also gives you the added advantage of starting in a proper airport and around bigger planes, you get used to dealing with busy air traffic control, so instead of not having the experiance on your first flight after getting the license and going to a bigger airport, because you learned on a grass strip:) theres also a school in oxford that is meant to be good

its funny but i dont really look at the military as an option these days, i think its such a desire to fly three planes, the DC10,, 777,, and the 7E7. good luck with it harrier:)

Harrier have you tried the Air Cadets? You get free flying with them in RAF trainers, and if you go to camps you get the chance to go up in serious toys!!!!

i have tried that, but i went for one of thode visits to see if i wanted to join up but it was full of kids, i felt kind of...past it.

LOL i remember going to one of those things, i had to go along as i was staying with a friend in andover, so they start out with a simple 2 mile run(at the time i was at the top of my game) well the guy who i had to go along with pulls out half way through, and well the rest barely made it round some 3 minutes after me, for the rest of the evening they all kind of gave me funny looks and ignored me. i just thought to myself, if this is the future of the RAF then god help us:) get out and my mate goes, i dont think they liked you, i was unable to stop laughing for ages:)

LOL, there must be alot of disappointed people who go in for pilot training and just can handle it, they'd be 'blacking out' on the first sharp turn  :)

Depends what you want & whether you're prepared to join in & work for it. You guys seem to want everything on a plate these days. I joined the ATC as soon as they would have me. I loved it & was promoted in less than 6 months. I had to wait a while but as soon as I reached the age of 16 I went on 2 gliding courses & was recommended for a flying scholarship. This was many years ago but from talking to cadets at our local air display I doubt things have changed that much.

There's plenty of flying schools in the UK. Almost every little airport has at least one. Prices vary depending on region & type of aircraft. As Ozzy says, do a search. Fozzer's local club is linked to his sig.

I found it in less than 2 minutes on Google.

I'm sure a flying club based at smaller airport would be much cheaper. There must be plenty of small airfields not too far from Liverpool.
